Our Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Celebrating Four Decades of Values and Vision

Our family-owned company is deeply rooted in a strong set of values, which drive our CSR activities. These guiding principles have shaped every aspect of our operations for over 40 years, from our philanthropic efforts and commitment to education to the well-being of our employees, community, and environment.

Philanthropy and Community Engagement

We’re proud supporters of The Teesside Charity (formerly Tees Philanthropic). We love attending their events and helping out with equipment to support the Teesside community. As members of the Infant Hercules Club, we’re dedicated to be giving back. Plus, we regularly donate to and sponsor various organisations, often inspired by requests from our fantastic employees.

Employee-Centric Initiatives

At IMH, our people come first. Our equal profit share scheme is one way we show it. We reinvest the first five percent of our profits back into the business, and anything above that is shared equally with all employees. We also make sure our pay keeps up with minimum wage increases, with three ~10 per cent raises across the company in the last three years.

Commitment to Training and Development

We’re big on training at IMH. Our efforts have earned us Gold membership in The 5% Club, thanks to our apprenticeship scheme that has welcomed 29 apprentices since 1995. We’ve invested in a purpose-built training centre with workshops and test rigs to support this initiative.

A Legacy of Excellence

In 2019, our founder, Paul Griffiths, received an MBE for his contributions to engineering and apprenticeships in Teesside. We’re continuing his legacy with an internal training manager who works with local schools and colleges to offer training and work experience.

We’ve teamed up with Ambic Manufacturing to provide free STEM days in schools and we sponsor a fluid power training centre at Hartlepool College of Further Education.

Supporting Employee Well-being

We care deeply about our employees’ well-being. That’s why we offer free access to WeCare & My Strength health and well-being support services, including an app and in-person counselling to bridge NHS waiting list gaps.

Sustainability and Future Plans

Sustainability is a top priority for us. We’ve got a dedicated environment champion and a senior manager overseeing our green initiatives. We’ve replaced general waste bins with new recycling stations to ensure all packaging is reused or recycled.

As we develop our new premises, we’re excited about enhancing the employee experience and reducing our environmental impact. Our new building will feature solar panels and green energy solutions, eliminating the need for gas heaters and boilers. We’ll also keep providing free electric car charging for employees and visitors and are transitioning our company vehicles from diesel to all-electric.

Looking Forward

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved and we are committed to upholding our values. As we move forward, we’ll keep prioritising our employees’ well-being, supporting our community and our customers, and striving for environmental sustainability.
